【Nantou NEXT⁺ Lab Series Event 1: Regional Cultural Healing Design】
Regional revitalization case studies and hands-on experience exchange—event was a great success!!! Event highlights
This event featured three representative reginal revitalization teams sharing their cases, along with hands-on experience sessions. Participants explored from multiple perspectives how to integrate local resources, cultural features, and social needs to drive sustainable development.
Shuili Snake Kiln Pottery Culture Park
Second-generation potter Chia-hsiang shared that since the kiln's founding in the 1940s, it has weathered industry shifts and market changes. Through craft education, cultural tourism, and lifestyle aesthetics, the park has enabled traditional pottery techniques to thrive in the contemporary era. Participants were deeply impressed by the brand positioning of "culture as root, life as foundation," and gained a clearer understanding of how brands communicate with the market through storytelling and design.
Rural Area Planting Creation Cooperative
Director Tseng, Chuan-hsi shared the journey of renovating an old house, explaining how natural materials, greenery arrangements, and light/shadow design were used to integrate reading, plants, and living aesthetics into a hybrid bookstore space. After hearing the experience, participants were inspired by the management philosophy of "letting the space tell its own story," and recognized how space can serve as a medium for local connection.
Strong Love Cultural Studio Co., Ltd.
Founder Wang, Yu-chi shared her motivation for returning home to start a business, centering on cultural healing × social innovation. By combining cultural and creative products with community co-creation, she has driven a model that supports second-career opportunities for rural women. The speaker emphasized that healing is not just a product format—it's a service design and social support system that enables the brand to generate social impact beyond market value.
Healing Plant Workshop
Building on Strong Love's philosophy, the workshop had instructors guide participants through creating "healing plant jars" using pruned orchard branches, succulents, and recycled tin cans—all examples of local resource reuse that embody green circularity.
Through the rich experiences shared by three speakers and engaging hands-on activities, participants not only gained inspiration but also witnessed the diverse possibilities of reginal revitalization across cultural preservation, industrial innovation, and social support.
