"This exhibition is quite different from the ones before!"
"This card game is so fun!"
"Isn't this exactly me!"
These were the remarks we heard most often over the past two days—
and the ones that moved and encouraged us the most.
This was the first time we held the 《Nantou Youth Festival》.
During the planning phase, we were full of imagination;
but once we actually began, we realized—
many things were much harder than we'd imagined,
and all the more worthwhile.
Just like every young person in the exhibition venue,
they too are in Nantou,
responding to their hometown with their first attempts.
Because they want to make their hometown better,
they choose to begin;
facing doubts of "no one has done this before,"
they also learn that "you have to know how to do everything."
Just as this year's theme says:
Others see us as slashers,
but actually it's because "there's still so much to be done."
We thank all the participating youth,
the supporting officials, the audiences who came,
and every youth policy suggestion that was written down.
We will continue to walk alongside our youth,
just as Deputy Magistrate Wang, Jui-te said on site:
"I hope everyone can start businesses and develop successfully!"
The first Youth Festival has come to a successful close.
Next year, we'll return in a maturer
and more passionate form,
and we'll continue to bring you more "unexpected surprises,"
just as our youth continue to evolve.
Because we believe—
when youth take action, Nantou is changing!
