" Harbor Voices" a new podcast program planned and produced by the Nantou County Youth Development Center, is scheduled to officially launch on Wednesday, October 15, 2015. The program's title is inspired by the imaginative question, "Where there is a fishing harbor, where there's no sea?" This contrasting proposition symbolizes the storytelling and life voices of a group of returning young people in the mountainous city of Nantou.
"Harbor Voices" focuses on "audio documentation," meticulously capturing the authentic lives of Nantou's youth through in-depth interviews, local documentation, and thematic observations. From their entrepreneurial journeys, cultural practices, life choices, and connections to the land, the program presents the sincerity and energy of these young people from diverse perspectives.
The Nantou County Government stated that this is more than just a podcast; it's a place trying to express itself in its own language. Each episode will feature a young entrepreneur from Nantou, either currently living in the city or working abroad, and will be accompanied by a short video. Director Yang of the Youth Development Institute stated that he hopes that through the launch of "Nantou Fish Harbor," more people will "hear" the voices of Nantou's youth and "see" the youthful energy and innovative spirit surging across this land. Even without the sea, Nantou can still ride the wind, forge a path for its youth, and let the world hear the echoes of this mountain city.
