Information regarding the consumer class action lawsuit concerning the "Central Union Oil Soybean Salad Oil Incident"

In response to the Sino-Union Fat & Oil soybean salad oil incident, the Department of Consumer Protection of the Executive Yuan, to safeguard consumer rights and interests, has coordinated with the Consumers' Foundation (CF) and the Taiwan Consumer Protection Association (TCPA) to initiate class action lawsuits on behalf of consumers against oil manufacturers including Sino-Union, Taisun, Fushow, and Formosa Oil. Both consumer protection organizations announced on July 21, 2026, their acceptance to undertake these class action lawsuits.



Regarding the class actions for this case, the Consumers' Foundation (CF) will file a lawsuit on behalf of "general consumers," while the Taiwan Consumer Protection Association (TCPA) will file on behalf of "students, faculty, and school staff." Relevant information is as follows:
