[Nantou NEXT+ Lab Series Event, Part 3 - Ecological Food Design]

🥢Eco-Food Design × Slow Learning in Life🌱 A Recap of the Successful Event✨

Unexpectedly! This time, we're bringing the classroom to the dining table!!!

By integrating cultural stories into cooking, ingredients and creativity collide, making food more than just food, but a representation of the land and culture. Learn how to incorporate sustainable practices into traditional culinary traditions and incorporate them into your daily diet!

🍃 Case Study 1 | Yuanmeng Tourist Farm

Director Wang Xiaoliang shared, "Contentment is the foundation of life." Starting with the craftsmanship and branding passed down by their elders, they combine the culinary wisdom of the Seediq people with local ingredients to create a tribal table imbued with cultural warmth. It turns out that every dish can become an important gateway to understanding tribal culture!

📖 Case Study 2 | Feichangtai Life Culture Studio

Founder Yang Liqin, centered on the concept of "food as culture," led participants to rediscover food, from solar terms and customs to the common table. During her presentation, she reminded everyone, "Eating isn't just about taste; it's about the cultural memories and environmental values behind it." It's crucial to engage not only with your taste buds, but also with your heart to feel the connection between the ingredients and the land.

👩‍🍳 Hands-On Cooking Workshop | Cooking Experience

The highlight! During the hands-on cooking experience, everyone put together a "Mushroom and Bamboo Shoot Savory Pie" using bamboo shoots and shiitake mushrooms. Paired with a passion fruit and pineapple drink, they transformed the flavors of Taiwan's four seasons into a creative, local treat.

The scallion chocolate was the most impressive. I never imagined the combination of scallions and chocolate would be such a memorable experience. The unique aroma of the scallions balanced the sweetness of the chocolate, creating a truly perfect combination!

"I never knew there were so many possibilities for local agricultural products!"

From "ingredients" to "table" and back to "the land," this journey isn't just about ingredients or cooking techniques; it's more about understanding, respecting, and cherishing one's hometown.

Starting with a single dish, we practice a philosophy of living in harmony with nature and sharing the good of the place. 💡
